“Inside Out”
Jeff Aronson, CEO of Cash4Gold, said he paid “rack rate” for a Super Bowl spot (reportedly $3 million) and received in return 18 times the volume of his normal business and one AFC championship ring. The ring had been stolen from Brenden Stai, who played on the 1995 champion Steelers. An employee pulled the ring out of the volume of gold that poured in after the Super Bowl. Aronson’s first thought: “It couldn’t be real.” But he said his company has elaborate research methods and strict security measures. “I’m the wrong person to take hot stuff to. I can’t afford to be perceived as a fence.” His first call was to the police and then to Stai, who was happy to get his ring back. Aronson said the Super Bowl spot was so successful, he’ll do it again. “If they are playing, I’m in.”
